Kanha Tiger Reserve, is one of the Tiger Reserves of India and the largest National Park of Madhya Pradesh.
Kanha area is divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar. The park has a significant population of the Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Sloth Bear, Barasingha and Indian Wild Dog. The forest depicted in the famous ” The Jungle Book” is based on jungles including this reserve.
Other commonly seen animals in the park include the Spotted Deer, Sambar, Barking Deer, Four Horned Antelope, Wild Cats, Foxes and Jackals. The reserve brings around 300 species of birds.
Winter days end beautifully around a bonfire with steaming Indian snacks from a clay oven. Wintery feels of the jungle is something that everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime. Sightings are good and it is an appropriate time for all the birders to visit the park since numerous migratory birds inhabit the park during winters.
There are four zones in Kanha namely, Kisli, Kanha, Mukki, and Sarhi.
